Marine batteries don’t have the same life span as a car battery. Because they don’t get used every day and they sit unused all winter long, the life span of your boat’s battery can vary greatly. Simple things, such as the memory on your radio, can drain an already weak battery between uses.
I recommend that you test your battery every spring and consider replacing it with a quality battery every three to four years. They may still have a little life left in them but the risk of being stranded on the water makes it worth the investment.
Kemptville Marine carries Deka Starting and Deep Cycle Marine Batteries.
